    First Qantas A220 revealed

Not heard that one before and even if true it still doesn’t really explain why unlike other “new” aircraft such the the sunrise A350’s the seats and cabin features have not been revealed either in render or in pics. Even if it were regulatory still no reason to not show pics.

Japan Airlines plane in flames at Tokyo's Haneda airport

Well Boeing did own DHC for a while, so maybe a link there!

    First Qantas A220 revealed

I'm surprised it is being held under wraps so tightly when on the surface there doesn't seem to be anything too radical with the interior or the seats to keep it under wraps for so long.

    First Qantas A220 revealed

They are not on Air France's and they don't have seatback IFE. I would gather it is an airlines option to have them or not.

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

I would have thought fleet utilisation was an issue but not the reason it is late so often. This is especially so for QF2 which of course is flown by the aircraft that operates QF1 into London some 12 hours before hand. So even a delay of multiple hours on QF1 should give time to recover for...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Looking at the ontime stats for QF1/2 over the past 3 months it has only been on time maybe half a dozen times with delays of an hour (for QF1) quite regular. Anyone know why these flights are always so late?

Article: Europe Doesn’t Recognise Australian Vaccination Certificates

Not sure. My point with the certificate was to reinforce it was designed for the border not for use in country except as a printed verification of vaccinations. It runs by IATA as that’s what the airlines and borders use to share information like this.

Article: Europe Doesn’t Recognise Australian Vaccination Certificates

as mentioned the international certificate is border officials only. It is linked somehow through IATA and basically cannot be scanned by anyone other than border officials.

Article: Europe Doesn’t Recognise Australian Vaccination Certificates

This is not strictly true. The international certificates are only meant for border officials not for access into restaurants etc in Europe. I was there last year and restaurants were more than happy with the Medicare certificate to allow entry, what they were looking for was double vacced and...

QF Domestic Fleet Renewal: Airbus 320neo/220 Preferred

Don’t over expect and you won’t be disappointed. Though to be honest judging by how the US and even Europe is going I think y’all may be pleasantly surprised.

QF Domestic Fleet Renewal: Airbus 320neo/220 Preferred

The Air France accident at the air show was caused by a number of things. But the main issue was pilot error by not understanding properly the envelope protection system and in particular how disabling that to undertake the fly past would effect their ability to control the plane. The air inter...

QF Domestic Fleet Renewal: Airbus 320neo/220 Preferred

I share part of that view, though I would expect maybe 788’s to come to Qantas (as they were originally intended) with Jetstar going all A320 family with their longer routes being A321XLR. I wouldn’t expect any second hand Jetstar A320ceo family planes make their way to Qantas mainline...

    QF B737 Replacement Competition

Reading some comments on other websites, people need to be aware whilst this announcement was for A321XLR and A220’s it doesn’t mean Qantas will be replacing 737’s with A321XLR’s like for like. The part of the detail people have missed is these are being added to the existing Qantas group...

Two QF A380s to be scrapped

If related to Afghanistan you would think it would be headed to Dubai rather that Abu Dhabi. I know they are not far apart but the military ops have been out of a base in Dubai. Seeing as it’s a -200 and one of the ones with fixed seat IFE in Y if this has something to do with the range...

Two QF A380s to be scrapped

I’d be reasonably sure only a subset of the A332 fleet will be used and they will be the ones with seat back IFE in Y, which never operated with Jetstar.
