What airplane are you waiting to fly the A380 or 787 Dreamliner?

Both actually. As QF is the preferred airline for business travel, I haven't had a chance to fly on the A380 as yet. This may change in November for a trip to Bangalore where the most direct flights from Sydney are on either SQ or MH. I will be taking SQ of course and ensuring I get on a A380 flight. It will be Y class.

Once the 787 arrives, I'll probably travel to a Jetstar destination just to try it out. As others have said, the A380 is just a bigger version of the 747 albeit with new interiors and quieter etc, etc. Where as the 787 is a step forward in a brand new aircraft.

I am really looking forward to the A380 firstly as I will actually get a chance to try it before the 787. I am more keen on the product than the aircraft though.

Mind you given we have another 4 years of product innovation before we get to sit in a 787 - I am expecting something special for that

Neither! I'd would have like to see each of them fly for a few years before getting on one.

Sadly - not to be at this stage as Qantas changed a 744 flight I had booked (with an inflexible fare) to a 388. Even more sad is my exit row seat went from 4th row of WHY with 23/265 WHY seats in front to the 16th row of WHY with 135/332 WHY seats in front.

If in a premium cabin - I'd want to try the A380 first mainly because of the attention they are getting for their nice suites - large space - showers - and what not. Maybe an airline would consider placing a snooker table later down the track? or a mini 10 pin bowling alley? or a virtual golf area? or even better, a jacuzzi?!

If in economy - I'm in no particular rush for any as I am not expecting a huge leap from the current economy products.

I thought I was going to get to fly the A380 - I'm moving back to the US from Sydney - but the times just don't work out. I have to fly on a Sunday, and 380 only goes ex-SYD on Fridays for now...

I am in the planning stages of a RTW trip with my father for travel in August/September 2009. If this trip goes ahead I was thinking of routing via MEL on QF93 so he gets the opportunity to experience the A380 even though it will be in WHY. He will be 71 and I am not sure he will get that many opportunities to try out the A380. Any RTW may be too difficult for him so I am limiting the stopovers to a couple of nights in New York, Rome, Paris and also 3 weeks in Greece.

That's interesting to note that that A380 is quieter.
Compared to what? The 747 ER400's?
Also, what is the air-quality/moisture like.

NM is right. According to some authoritative sources:

I've also heard at that at 1800 metres the effects of jet lag are severely diminished.
