Rather than create a new thread - I don't suppose either of the regular MH flyers here have had any trouble crediting the deeply discounted MH fares to QF? I don't really care about the points - but the SCs would be really nice. I've picked through the QF ts&cs - given that I have spent the last 10 years drafting contracts for a living, I would have thought that I would have stood a reasonably good chance of working this out myself - but it's utterly bamboozling. I'm suspecting that the deeply discounted fares earn neither a point nor a sc.
I've been sent the MH do you want to bid for an upgrade email - which judging by another thread books into I class. Expert flyer is showing my KUL-DRW flight (13 April so 7 days time) as C4 J4 D4 I2 with no seats allocated in business class (economy has just 8 seats allocated (including mine) and is showing 9s across the board on the fare buckets) - so I have only bid 15% more than the minimum.
Note that while MHUpgrade rebooks into I it is still non-earning on QFF (or for that matter on MH or AA).
Most MH cheap fares I have seen are N-Class which earn nothing on QF
That's what I thought - no SCs or miles - how ever will I cope!?!?!
Anecdotal evidence suggests this is also the case for partner programs, that because it is in I class it won't automatically credit and the form type electronic retro mileage claims will be rejected, but manual intervention/follow up is required to obtain credit in originally ticketed fare class. Of course anything in N, O, Q or G class won't credit to partner programs irrespective of MHupgrade or not.
After finding this page How to Find Your Fare Class on Malaysia Airlines Flights - FlyStayTravelFlyStayTravel - I finally worked out that my fare bucket is O.
Thanks for all the advice - it's been most helpful.
I've walked around T1, T2 and T3 inside SIN airport a few times. It's a nice walk. Helps pass the time and keeps you awake.
From memory it's ~15 minute walk from Qantas lounge to furthest gates in T2. I am a fast walker but not as fast as some here.
QFF Platinum (OW Emerald), Lifetime Gold 117.75%
Thanks for all the advice and tips on this thread. Flew through last night without a hitch. Even made it to the QF club before Mrs Triple B.
I charged from the T2 passport control to the QF club in just under 10 minutes (but I was really charging along the travelators). On the way back took the monorail and dropped into the MH lounge (which I can see why people would go around to the QF/BA lounges to avoid if time permits). Had my first MH flights - quite good. The cheap bid upgrade was very pleasant. My productivity at work is brought to you today by the sleep I got on the KUL-DRW redeye.
Many thanks again.
