QF F lounge in Singapore

Sorry for basic question ....
I have an upcoming BNE-LHR in J on QF and am hoping for upgrade to F on the SIN-LHR leg. I have 3 hours in SIN: assuming I get the F upgrade, is there a QF F lounge as opposed to the usual QF lounge? If so, is it much better?

Yes, there is quite a nice Qantas First lounge in Singapore. Good luck with your upgrade.

but you don't need to pay for beer in the Qantas Club lounge there anyway. Don't see that the Flounge at SIN is that good

I agree - there are a few more choices of food and it is generally not as crowded. Aside from that, there is little difference.

However the SQ F lounge is another story. Noice.

The showers are good and normally not to long of a wait. Also no lining up in corridors like QP dom SYD, they give you a paging disc.

Food is replenished quickly

Agree with the showers in the F lounge being very good, one of the better ones I have used and most welcome whilst in transit to BNE after a long trip from Paris like I had last week! Cest la vie , thats life in F

But ..... now I'm a tad worried as I rang up for a seat allocation, and for the SIN-LHR leg they told me that only 23E was available: everything else was taken

Questions:
1. Presume 23E isn't the greatest seat available? Or is it okay?
2. When presented with the option of taking this seat or putting in a request for another (eg aisle lower deck or wondow upper deck), what should one do? Are there tactics that I should be adopting, eg ringing up every day to see whether I can get a better seat ... or is this futile?
3. Does this mean J is chockers, or could it be that there are some seats blocked for me to be allocated (afer all, I am Gold, not Platinum status)?
4. If I don't take 23E as an allocation, I presume I will still get a seat regardless (ie can't be bumped back)? *looks around and shivers*

Still hoping for upgrade to F, but guess if J is that full there may well be CL/Platinum ahead of me to be upgraded.

Nope, its not a good seat. Probably the best of the middle seats, but all middle seats are to be avoided at all costs.

I would be checking at least daily. Personally, I would be using ExpertFlyer or some other tool that lets you view the seatmap on-line. Things do change, with people changing flights and cancelling.

Yes, it sounds like it is very full. As far as I know, the only J seats that are blocked for Gold/Platinum members are row 16 - the upper deck exit row.

You have probably already been placed into 23E. Its VERY rare for QF to bump J passengers. I know some people will have stories of that happening, but its very rare. You should be hoping that a Platinum member has been allocated row 16 or some other good seat and is successful in their request for an upgrade to F. Of course, even better if you are the one to score the upgrade!

I suggest that if you don't find a better pre-allocation seat, that you check-in early and request a better seat then. And if still stuck in 23E, let the lounge agent know you are very disappointed with the seat allocation and could they please, please see if something better pops up as available as the flight closes.
