Its not going to be a cheap business class. Its really a premium economy product.

    First Class isn't a seat, it's a lifestyle.

Perhaps slightly better in that, at the very least because you get a personal video player and in seat power ...

Here's some basic info: What is StarClass?
On Airbus A330 operated services Jetstar offers StarClass a new premium cabin
for the price of other airlines economy class. StarClass highlights are:
    • Priority check-in
    • Qantas Club lounge access
    • Priority boarding
    • In-seat power
    • Complimentary meals, beverages, video-on-demand entertainment and amenity kit
    • Fully flexible and refundable fare change dates, times and names
    • Jetstars new StarClass features 'Millennium' seats - extra wide leather seats with adjustable lumbar support, headrests with wings, and a 38" pitch.

Only from the seat perspective. Not as fare as other services are concerned.

Starclass does include meals, but just the same meals as the other passengers are able to pre-order or buy on board. It includes the same limited supply of beverages as can be pre-ordered of purchased on board.

I certainly expect it will make the JQ experience quite ok and provides an option for those willing to pay a little more for a better seat, which is what most carrier's premium economy products are about. The fact that it will pay QF Business Class status credits for QF FF members is a real bonus.

    Re: JETSTAR starclass

i have been reading the threads to do with starclass seating, and they all date back to 07. i am looking at flying Melbourne Australia to Honolulu in star class, so I wanted to find out how these seats compare to QF business with respect to reclining and leg room. Has anyone travelled in starclass and QF business to be able to compare?
    Thanks
    MK

    Re: JETSTAR starclass

The seats have not changed in style since Star Class was introduced, so the information is still relevant.

The Star Class seats are basically the same as Qantas uses for domestic business class services on their 737-800, 767-300 (domestic config) and A330-200 (domestic config), with the main difference being they are leather covered as opposed to the cloth covers used on Qantas domestic Millennium seats. The pitch and recline is the same.

The Millennium seat is used by Qantas for trans-Tasman international services on 767-300 aircraft in 2x2x2 config.

Its hard to compare with the generic "QF business" since Qantas use several different seat type business class services. They have the Millennium seats on domestic and trans-Tasman flights (exactly the same as JetStar Star Class by cloth for QF, leather for JQ). QF has Dreamtime cradle seats on 767-300 international flights, which have more pitch and more recline than Millennium seats. They have Skybed Mk 1 on international config A330 and 744 aircraft, which lie flat but not horizontal. They have Skybed Mk II on A380 flights, which lie flat and horizontal.

    Re: JETSTAR starclass

Mum and I were fortunate enough to have 2 weeks in Hawaii last year (again!). We flew Jetstar economy on the way over and paid at check in to upgrade on the way home.

We found both classes to be fantastic.

The crew in Star Class kept my glass topped up

It was better than domestic business and if you can afford it go for it.

Next trip we're booking Starclass. But if we had to would still go economy.

Can anyone make a comparison between BA PE, QF PE and JQ Starclass as far as seats and legroom goes? I don't care about the service etc. but I do care about recline and legroom.

    .
I can confirm that Star Class has unlimited beverage service and snack service. The staff have no issues refilling your glass or getting another beer/spirit for you at any time.
