Did the letter forbid you from reapplying?
But then they say...
So your account will be closed in 21 days, but they want you to stop using it now....? I would be using it right up until the 21 days have been completed in pure spite...! You might not get points for the spend from now on though....
Would be interested to see what happens if you "accidentally" did not receive or read their letter![]()
I would still be pursueing the issse - if you don't know the reason, how can you stop it happening again?
The card was issued to me in late June 2011 after supplying a copy of my Tax return. They gave me a $25K limit.
All charges were for purchases and expenses for my business.
As far as GST and BAS , I submit monthly and get a tax refund for first 2 months and pay on the third month. Not a major charge.
Account always paid on the day after it was received.
In my first 6 months of useage , I have earned 375K QFF points. Fortunately I have 2 Citi Emirates Cards and these are empty and can now get $100K each before reaching cap. 300K Emirates points. That will take about 3 months, hopefully enough time to apply for a Citi Card like Select or Signature.
Will apply for a pro rata refund on Annual Fee.
Will persue the reason to ensure it has not affected my rating.
My opinion comes with a 100% Money Back Guarantee.
While Business use is strictly not permitted, I would say the ~$375k over the past 6 months is a dead give away...! While that spend is quite possible as personal use, I think based on the average user of this card, a spend like this is going to attract lots of attention. Pretty sure you can get away with Business spend, as I do, but more than ~$50k-$100K may attract a lot of attention to you...
Perhaps you would have been better off to run some "personal" transactions through the card such as Supermarket / coffee shop / department stores to mix the spend up, most of my business spend is slightly hidden away in +100 transactions a month
The CitiBusiness Gold is a better alternative. Obvious, business transactions will be tolerated. 1.25 reward points per dollar spend. 1:1 transfer to QF.

Whatever floats your boat
