One of my customers in a mining town has FIFO Prostitutes.

They are the young girls that you see in BNE and SYD driving the really good cars.

One of the girls she has been doing it for a few years and she owns her house and is earning app $720K per year. Tax free

She is on a 7 on 7 off roster

The owner of the place apologised and it did bring a different crowd and many people coming and going all night.(no pun intended)

I think there has problems before with this person or being a mining town maybe there has been an incident after the person has left and there is a guy turning up knocking on some guys door ver drunk demanding something that wasn't going to happen I have stayed at the motel more times than I can remember and know the owners quite well.
Has a Chinese restaurant attached by any chance?

I read the original article on this ages ago (few months) and from that the motels owners didn't know she was a prostitute and shed used the motel for years, it was just a slip up on her last time that alerted them. She was very discreet and there was nothing bad associated with her business.

From the article I read I was 'rooting' for her. Glad she won!

Potential minefield for the owners/management. Suppose she was assaulted, or worse, the motel would become a crime scene and publicity of the wrong sort besets the property...an owner's nightmare.

Suppose another patron overdoses in the next room, again it becomes a crime scene and the stories read that he was getting high in that motel...

Re: Prostitute wins discrimination case against motel

IIRC historically, the loss of Property rights were associated with (white) Business owners not serving people of colour. So they brought in legislation to say that you could not discriminate against who might enter the business premises.
Of course property owners should be able to discriminate as to whom they wish to do business with; but legally they do not. The "market", rather than legislation, would have ultimately changed any discriminatory behaviour by the business owner. Unfortunately in the efforts to stamp out racism, property owners have lost the property rights authority against everybody.........so good on the prostitute for standing up for her legal rights; but it is probably not a legal right she should be entitled to IMO.

Anyway, such girls can look up Wotif and like, then book and prepay over internet and management cannot stop them from checking in, I believe.

I assume they can’t stop them the first time, but can tell them before they leave that they’re banned from any future bookings? Otherwise I’m not sure how this went down in the first place.

That said, lots of the country towns I’ve looked into flying into don’t have a great selection of motels on Wotif anyway.
