Question Anyone bought a Westin heavenly bed in Australia

Hi, I love the Westin heavenly beds that I've been lucky enoug to sleep in!

I contacted Sydney and was surprised to find they do sell them here as well.

However, I have a couple of concerns in that they are made here under license and secondly I have never stayed at the Westin in Australia so not sure if they are "the same" as the US standard.

Has anyone here bought one? Experiences?

Do those who've stayed at Westin in Australia and the US etc find the beds the same standard/consistency.

Really appreciate your help before I fork out the $3-4k for the package.

    Thanks

I stayed at the Westin Melbourne. I actually found the pillow top of the bed too soft for me, but then again the pillow top of my bed at home is too soft for me also. Have not slept in a Westin bed overseas. Others may have different views therefore. There is an amount of comment on the internet that the Westin USA bed is made by Simmons, and the Australian version by Sealy. You would have thought they might use similar specifications but who knows.

Re: Anyone bought a Westin heavenly bed in Australia

I brought a heavenly bed via the Westin Melbourne about ten months ago (mattress only). Overall the experience was pretty painless - quick delivery to rural Victoria. However they did overcharge me a significant amount and it took over six weeks to get the charge reversed - the business centre (who deal with the sales) was very incompetent - however a quick email to the GM sorted the problem.

It's been two years since I've stayed at a US Westin so can't really make the comparasion. It is very very soft, which is pretty much all I remember from US Westins. I've found the beds at the Westin Hotel can slightly vary - but it is comparable to what you normally get at the Westin Melbourne.

I typically use a set of W Hotel bedding with it. If you like I can check the mattress brand when I'm at home - but I think ric_melb is correct and it is a Sealy.

If you're looking at the whole bedding package (duvet, sheets etc) it is also worth checking at the us westin at home site and nordstrom etc - obviously the mattress or ensemble is best sourced locally. The W store also often has 50% off sales etc.

The prices at Nordstrom aren't always better than through Sydney Westin:

Putting together a complete "Heavenly Linen package":

    2 x King Feather/Down Pillows @ 83.81 ea
2 x Standard Size Polyester Fibreball Pillows @ 49.30 ea
    2 x King Pillow Cases @ 78.88 ea
    2 x Standard Size Pillow Cases @ 69.02 ea
    1 x Boudoir Pillow and Case @ 88.74
    1 x Flat/Bottom Sheet @ 118.33
    1 x Top Sheet @ 118.33

    1 x King Duvet Cover @ 295.81
    1 x King Duvet Insert @ 271.16
    1 x King Valance @ 197.21

    costs $1651.6

versus $1000 or 75,000 SPG through Westin

I suppose with a 50% discount, it would be cheaper...

PS, has anyone here bought one of the mattresses through eBay / cypress-lakes or hotelathome.net.au ???

As much as I like the Westin beds I personally wouldn't buy one. I bought a tempur mattress over 6 months and it's the best investment ever. Since the change from our 8 yr old $3k Sealy mattress, both my partner and I not only sleep a thousand times better, but all our aches and pains from sleeping on traditional mattresses are now non existent.

I am big fan of Westin and their heavenly beds. I wanted to get them and as burrco mentioned its a simple process. The make of the beds do differ but I am told all of them are pretty much made as per Westin's strict specs.

Had always been keen on getting either of the Heavenly Bed or Heavenly Shower, but the shop seemed to me to be inaccessible locally - good to know that it can be arranged.

In the end, we ended up forking out for one of the A H Beard beds from Wolgan Valley, which has been very nice so far.

We're staying at Wolgan Valley this weekend so I'll be sampling the bed . If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the bed?

Thank you djfuzz. This is our first visit to Wolgan Valley. I think Hayden has been a couple of times.
