What an interesting imagination you have!!
I guess if that does ever happen, i'll be taking the private jet option.

If we let our imagination run wild, what will air travel like
if fuel hits $300/b ? or for some reason in the future we
would like ultra cheap air travel for extra long distance ?
1. luggage will be charged by weight.
2. pax will be put into sleep (more like an induced coma) before flight
3. pax will then be put into a capsule (more like a coffin)
4. then capsules with pax will be loaded into most fuel efficient aircraft, much more pax (I guess 3 times?) can be carried on one flight because of their "travel configuration", no in-flight entertainment and food required.
5. when flights arrived. pax will be woken up in beds... waking up in the hotel you have booked will be optional ..
Benefits:
1. Cheaper flights because much more pax on one flight.
2. No bad flight attendant services
3. No IFE broken down
4. No children crying
5. No stress from flight delays, actions can be pre-selected for flight delay scenarios
5. Added safety from terrorist attacks.

My mission is to utilise my blackbook of travel contacts to create travel experiences that will leave footprints forever on your soul
Haha of course you can take that option, it probably cost 300X more !
also one more benefit...
7. you can travel anonymously.
if you decide to pay $X more, you will be the first to be waken up
Well of course your suggestions depend on what happens to the USD in that time ..... $300/b could of course be less than $150/b today in Euro, AUD, CNY or GBP terms .... so your proposed way of flying may just be relevant to domestic travel in the US, not terribly different from today......
I immediately thought of the wake up scenes from the 'Alien' series of movies and can't seem to shake the thought.
As forI guess it depends who does the pat-down and then there is the perfect opportunity to reverse the current problem of the baggage going astray. We could have the baggage at the correct destination and the passenger at the wrong destination.
Would you have to buy another ticket to get to the correct destination![]()

QFF Platinum (OW Emerald) LTSilver & 56.57% to LTG, Velocity FF Platinum, UA Nothing (thank goodness), HHonors Diamond, PC Platinum Ambassador, SPG Gold, Hertz Gold No 1, Ansett -- nothing any more!
That should be easy to take care of,
you enter a password before you "go",
and when you arrive at the correct airport
you enter the password to "tick" yourself off,
then they will know if you become a lost luggage..![]()
You really have thought about this havent you? he he he... A slow time at work perhaps?
Actually this idea came to me when I was packing for my trip,
if I can pack tight and take more why can't the airline do the same
for pax ?
Also for me during long distance flights ~15 hours the best way is to sleep through it, but children can be crying, and you wish you were in a coma....
For my work high imagination / innovation is required.... not surprising that I
come up with this idea !
