It's official, Maroochydore/Sunshine Coast Airport is to become Sunshine Coast Airport. The new name has been approved by CASA, and takes effect from 3rd June'10.
The Airports ICAO Designator will change rfom YBMC to YBSU.

I'd say so.... same as Gold Coast Airport is still OOL (even though the more logical GCT code is still available)

ICAO does not equal IATA, so I suspect MCY will stay, still bemused by the ICAO designator, why not YBSC?
Whatever the designator, it still means Sunshine all the way
