Here we go again. Another long haul!
It's only hours now before we board; there are goodbyes to be said, last minute packing and tears threatening every second.
I hate leaving the kids and our three little grandsons. So much will be changed before I see them all again. One of our little guys starts school in Jan and we will not be here for that.
Trying to imprint the feel of their hugs in my memory to recall once we've left.
My stomach has been
Have had a wonderful month here a home. And now it's time to leave I don't want to.
Am I the only one who doesn't like living in the States?
Have been back in Oz for the last month, head back to the States on Wednesdy.
Hubby flew down a few weeks are me. Has lower status and less points than me and yet, once again he was upgraded!
Neither flight was full........ So what gives Qantas?
The phone call came and I jumped on a plane - three of them actually. MSP/DFW/LAX/AKL - expecting to be there for a few weeks, my Mum passed a few hours after I arrived. Not wanting to repeat the 30 hrs+ traveling time on a return trip to MN, I flew AKL/BNE to spend time with the grandchildren.
Flying across the ditch I wondered why; if costs are an issue with QANTAS, why the heck do they produce a hot meal on this flight, followed by ice cream. It's just over 3 hours of flying time.
One of the joys we found on this last trip MSP/DFW/LAX/AKL/BNE/LAX/DFW/MSP was that while on the American Airline sectors we got priority boarding. Even when flying QANTAS as silver f/f's we didn't get priority boarding. In fact we were hard press to figure out the benefits of having silver status when flying with QANTAS!
