As a follow up from my last post about DF bought in Mumbai, I have noticed something further on the QF site.
On my flight from BOM - MEL, I will transit SIN and according to the QF site:
"Customers who are entering Australia via transit in Singapore will not be allowed to carry duty free items purchased from previous sectors."

I am flying from Mumbai back home to Oz soon and just read on the Qantas site that if you buy duty free alcohol and perfume from Mumbai airport "even in the sterile zone", it will be confiscated as it is not allowed on board the plane.

This seems odd and I have been trying to locate any info on this on the web and cannot see anything to confirm or deny this.
