    JQ in Y CNS/DPS/CNS

We are looking for a short break late next month for my birthday - CNS/DPS/CNS on JQ in Y (there is no J) only a 4.5 hour flight, using QFF points, I see it includes 20KG in luggage each but don't see seat selection, food etc. like the normal JQ plus bundle, is that included?.

I had a look at Seat Guru for best seats on the A320 it didn't make me any wiser.

    any advise appreciated

    Re: JQ in Y CNS/DPS/CNS

I usually try and stay as far away from JQ as I can as the past experiences have been woeful, yet the good woman says we can stand 4.5 hours going to DPS in Y (in a cramped sardine tin seat), with possibly the person in front reclining back into you, plus being waked for what they deem as extras "after" booking. I see no lounge access unless flying J (there is no J on JQ91) and doubt my Q club membership would get us in on departure at DPS either?.

I read reports like this and wonder should I spend extra hours and cost going J through another city, but I have been unable to find QF J flights around the dates required, so stuck with JQ in J and the last time we did that was SYD/HNL, the person in front J seat reclined all the way back it was bloody awful.

So it seems I'll just have to live with it and hope the short 6 day vacation on the ground will make up for it.

Ps. not been to Bali for 2 decades.

A Starter Max fare should give you access to the JAS Premier Lounge in DPS as per Lounge access for Economy Starter Max passengers | Jetstar

Well yes but starter max fare price is ridiculous for one lounge visit in DPS, give that a miss.

Just had a gander on the JQ site, for 2 pax a total of $695 with starter bundle for our dates! - CNS/DPS/CNS inc food (well), luggage and about 3K FF points between us, a lot better than 56K QFF points and $500 + add food and seat, I'm warming to the idea of booking direct - did I really say that... my we have come down the ladder from plat to bronze in our senior years and hundreds of long hauls and lounge visits over decades in J & status, so being international lounge hoppers at various airports around the globe this is a change (+ DPS departure with the bogans), arr well be only once me thinks.

The 6 day holiday will more than make up for the Jetstar flight. We too had not been to Bali for 2 decades and were surprised how much we enjoyed it! (Staying at the Conrad helped) The JQ 787 that flies to and from Brisbane is absolutely my worst experience on a plane for comfort. As it was an overnight flight back we paid for business class - JQ should be prosecuted by the ACCC for labelling it business class. Would love to go back but not flying Jetstar.

    Re: JQ in Y CNS/DPS/CNS

We have a few Qantas friends in OZ who go there and say nice things about it.

The aircraft out of CNS is A320 might be able to get the exit seats, maybe not as departure would be 28th Feb. so bit close in now.

From past experiences I get the shivers booking anything with JQ as when a problem occurs its a lost cause, but with a mere 54K points and $500 in toto for 2 CNS/DPS/CNS not much to lose and as Mrs.Lime says its only 4.5 hour flight.

Have been on JQ in PE (sorry they call it J) the person in front had seat back all the way to HNL, annoying it was, asked to have less recline said no, its then I wish I had Knee Defenders (yes illegal). Spot on Moffat39 should not be allowed to call it J.

I found with international economy fares the cost of the taxes really doesn't make using points viable.

the outbound flights at 6:50pm is probably good, the return flight at 11:15pm or 1:15am is not ideal,

Even though it costs more I would include the night you leave as part of your accommodation, that way if any delays, the less you spend in the terminal the better.

Fate has a funny way of dealing with things. It, in a way, teaches us to make the most of the now, forgive and live before we forget how to.
