Going to Westfield to get XS and then going to Auspost is in my opinion likely to be (correctly IMO) perceived as a contrived method to get benefits that are not related to the actual tax payment!

Sadly I agree, but tax law may say differently...

Still, ATO / PAYG / GST on QEDRCC works for me...

Re: ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

All right all this is to Cove and Newk and the Elite AFF members using the Gift cards and XS cards....involving TAX and other payments.
My Bloody inbox is filled and I know you guys on this thread the more often than not.

So I have read multiple threads and all pages and checking\seeking a few answers please.

Jetstar expiring for first year free and applied for Other Mac Plat card free first year to use for tax and the gift card thing.
Now If I buy my 5% giftcard from organisation (me it's BUPA) Presidential card service $500:
    1. There are no fees via Visa card?
    2. Do you just get them sent via the $0.55 post option?
    3. As plat card Visa if they do not arrive, are you covered by Credit card insurance?
    4. Can use Gift card/XS card Card to pay for Dan Murphy purchase online on Starthere.com.au for further 5.25% off?
    5. Is XS card cheaper at "self service Post office for ATO and credit card payments..than Visa ATO online? i. better for $700 payment, but worse for $10K payment?
    6. Is it worth have a Free Velocity AMEX card for the XS card.....which is the 2700 bonus points one?
    7. Are there any Free 1.25 point card going for ATO payments?
    8. Where are the XS card from online or instore?

Kind Regards and thankyou in "ADVANCE" for any help to the above

I'm using the gift cards "Woolworths Wish Cards" with the 5% off from my local RAA store ($1k costs $950 - Purchased on the QEDRCC 1:1 Mastercard) for purchases at Dan Murphy Click & Collect via the starthere links, however the 5.25% credit from starthere takes a long time to hit my Paypal account

    7. Are there any Free 1.25 point card going for ATO payments?
Doubt it but if you find one then please let me know...

I'm just a beginner in a lot of this and don't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as cove

Here's my attempts at some answers. As always others will correct me if necessary:
The Coles giftcard can be bought with Visa and MC for no fees. IIRC postage is free
The WW card can also be bought with Amex and postage is also free IIRC...yes, I have an invoice next to me "Shipping and handling 0.00". That's registered post as well
The Coles one needs activation via a code they email you. The WW one just comes, although I may have read somewhere that they will soon also need activation. Getting lost is a worry and I am unsure of the CC insurance aspects

Question 4: I don't know, but someone will

Question 5: It's better to see the XS card thread sorry. Everyone will have different priorities. If you claim cc fees as a tax deduction for ATO payments the XS route is likely to be cumbersome and not much cheaper, if at all, than straight out payment by visa. Especially for large amounts as the payments have to be in quantums of no more than $995. The XS card may be useful for this and other stuff if you are in short term need of extra points.

Question 6: I don't know. If you can get a fee Amex card that gives points I'd say do your calculations on the points per dollar and go for it if it works out

Question 7: Again I don't know. Most if not all cards that pay max points per dollar have fees. There may be some out there that don't...eg association cards and the like

    Assume you are asking me.....

No, I dont pay the $0.55 post option, I go into the RAA store, pay with my 1:1 card and take the wish cards with me, generally its around $1k - $2k mark... this is only applicable to RAA or RAC members I believe

yeah this is a good option. Sadly the RAA shop in a Westfield not too far from you and me doesn't take XS cards

and, Plant I think there are other motoring organisations that will do what Shintaro describes. An advantage of the Presidential card may be that you can pay with Amex and depending on your Amex type get more ppd. Also the answer that I gave above about buying by post was for the Entertainment Card sorry
