Had a few rejections in recent times and trying to get my head around it all.
I have a visa with my current bank and (mortgage provider) that I have had for prolly 7-8years now.
About 4 years ago I did a trip to NZ and got another with a major bank to take advantage of good fee structure when OS, after the trip I paid it out and closed the accounts and ended my relationship with that bank
Aroud 6 months ago I changed jobs and my current career requires a lot of travel, which I pay for and my company reimburse weekly. Shortly after starting this new job I applied for an increase in my limit to cover my new increased spending on flights etc, this was refused due to recently changing employers.
Probably about 2 months ago I applied for an Amex QF FF card. This was knocked back also and was advised to reapply in a few months incase they change the acceptance criteria.
I was also told my credit record and income is fine, just when answering the questions on the application form, my answers didn't amount to a high enough point score to get me in.
Does anyone know how they work these things out? Amex said they could not tell me anything further.
i got a copy of my credit record, and other than the mentioned applications there is no black marks or anything else, I always pay out my credit card in full before the due date (often paid up every week) and I'm well in front on my mortgage, I mostly want to get into something that will earn me points and other benefits offered by some cards and a small increase in my limit would be useful also. My current card has no rewards program or any other perks other than no annual fee.

I suspect that it is also because you have been working in your current job for only 6 months. I wonder if the response to 'reply in a few months' is a hint. Good luck
