1) Currently have Westpac Platinum Altitude Rewards (about 250,000 points) and somehow did not pay enough attention when lost QF FF conversion, apparently earlier this year. Their rewards program is hopelessly overpriced - no value there. Understand there is a range of airlines I can convert points to. Any experience please? Which is best range and value? Presume I have to join FF program/s.
2) Also have ANZ Qantas FF card, but after a certain spend you only receive 0.5 points for every dollar. About to spend over $3000 on new camera and accessories and want to get best FF outcome. Almost all providers are not accepting Amex. As I already have a large number of Qantas points, no point in my now going to another airline (?). Should I be considering other card providers?

NAB have a QF card, go gold and they throw in a Amex card free, sure, you only get .75% on the Visa card, but on Amex you get 1 for 1, so not a bad deal. Talk to them about your spend, and they will probably give you a no charge Visa plus Amex. I get this with the NAB Velocity cards.
P.S. They will throw in 10 to 15000 points after a first up spend.

All of the nab qantas cards have a visa. I'm not sure what 0.75% means. The nab gold card earns 0.66 points per $, which is better than ANZ.
The bonus points on first spend is a limited time promotion that ends 10 Sept. IIRC.
