So you have purchased your Economy class ticket, but would like to use your Qantas points to upgrade to Business class? (Incidentally, this is a wise move as upgrading usually offers the “best value” when redeeming points)

As many members have experienced, it’s a bit of a lottery. Buying an upgradeable fare is usually more expensive, and there is no guarantee that you will be able to upgrade.

Our members suggest that you look at the loadings (ie. available seats) for Business class. The more seats available, the higher the chance of an upgrade. Also having status helps. The higher your status, the higher the chance of an upgrade.
