I was in the UK last month and came across this company giffgaff.com
For as little as 10 pounds charge up gets you unlimited data, 250 minutes worth of calls and unlimited texts (valid for 30 days)
For me having unlimited data was the biggest selling point - I could pair my iphone to my ipad and be constantly connected etc
The only downside was I needed to be in the UK to order the SIM, so I couldnt be connected as soon as I landed
Giffgaff are growing quickly mainly through sending out free sims (as long as in UK)
I have had my friend send me a bunch of sims to me to give away on AFF, that way you can activate and be connected as soon as you land
Full disclosure my friend will get 5 pounds credit for each sim actually activated (Im not getting anything)
So if you would like one of these SIM's send me a PM and if you need a micro or regular sized SIM or both
Hopefully some other AFF members will find them as useful as me

Do they expire?
Expiry date would be great so we don't waste them. Thanks.
They aren't activated so no they won't be activated until you put money on them - hence won't expire
Still have some - so if you have a trip to UK in the foreseeable future, feel free to ask for one
Looks I'm out, not enough posts for PMs still some time before head to UK so should be able to arrange before then.
OJM i have sent you a PM - with my details
What is the deal with roaming within europe. I can look it up later, but if someone has already checked, i'm thinking about Russia, UK, France and possibly Spain.
