Interesting promotion, could be an expensive phone if they use Tiger for the tickets!

I have no idea on the cost of the phone (I suspect it is >AUD400 or to sign up for a 24 month contract) and most likely the mystery flight would be on JQ or TT.
Interesting condition that travel must include a Saturday night.

Are flights cheaper on Saturday, why hasn’t anyone told me this before!?!
From the terms it wouldn’t matter who you’re flying:
But I see there are strict conditions attached, minimum of 2 weeks between flights (so an expensive holiday), maximum one month, one flight has to be on Saturday, doesn’t count public holiday periods. Maximum cost will be $600 and those that win flights over $250 will have their names printed in The Australian too.Frequent Flyer and loyalty reward points are not applicable to these flights.
All up, it’s an awful competition.

You never asked! At a guess I would say that Tuesday and Wednesday are the cheapest then closely followed by Saturday. I believe Saturday has the least scheduled flights of any other day and you will not find many elite frequent flyers travelling that day.
But Sam it does matter who we're flying!![]()

Lounge access is important but is no longer my only factor when booking flights.
Recently spent ~5 hours in SIN T3 without any lounge access. It was not that bad and I had a really relaxing time. I went upstairs to Cheers and bought 3 large cans of Tiger for SGD11.25 (SGD2.95 if you want small can) and then bought a Whopper meal at Hungry Jack's for ~SGD7.95 so all up less than SGD20. Sat down in the lounge chairs people watching.

Changi is one of the few ports in the world where spening several hours in the terminal can be very pain free.
