I didn't read the email but I saw the airfares last night and I could not believe how low they were for Qantas. I wish I could book my flights through to the end of August for my weekly commute SYD-BNE but there is some uncertainty and who knows the airfares may even get lower....
This could well be like driving past cheap tuesday petrol and then needing to fill the tank on Thurs. I'd get in now (have already grabbed some to MEL for a couple of AFL/foodie weekends) for the odd change you need make the leadin on BNE is still sub $90.
The thing I like about the QF sales, whilst they wont go as low as others,
there is usually more sale avail than the others plus I still get the benefits of Lounge and no baggage fee etc for the cheap price..all the saving go towards dinners at some of my fav eateries in MEL like MoMo which reopens this week..yum
Some of those prices are really good; one fare I had been looking at is now 40% cheaper than it was yesterday.
You never know what is around the corner.
Is there a way to tell the booking class before the final step? I doubt they are upgradeable, but might as well find out if possible. I did a search of the forums as I remembered something about the source code, but I could only find a thread from last year that said it was no longer possible. Just checking if this is still the case?
Thanks,
Jon
If you cliick the fare type icon at the top you will know if the are upgradeable or not. In the case of domestic sales case they are generally not.
Other than that you can ascertain the booking class as described in this post:

Thanks for that. They appear not to be eligible, which was in line with my expectations. Can now get my flights for brisbane in may.

Interesting marketing effect. People whom were going to be buying tickets at the higher prices are now getting them cheaper - provided they pay and commit well in advance.
I know that I am talking about value airfares to just about everyone I talk to in conversations these days. The good value fares are making it a good year for travel.
