Maybe this Board needs a 'cheap/discounted' Domestic fare forum.

    That'd be handy.

Also adding to the sales on now, QF has some cheap fares for around the same time as all these other sales are on (mid-Jan) but theyre not advertised yet. One I've managed to find so far is MEL-ADL for $89

You are correct; I looked earlier today and the cheapest MEL/HBA fares for OzFest V (late may '08) were $141; now showing as $99.

So cheapest MEL/HBA return prices are:
    • DJ - $140
    • JQ - $100
    • QF - $202

The Jetstar sale isn't giving me anything worth buying. $800+ Syd->KL. Tried a variety of dates. Anybody else?

    Re: Domestic Sales on now

I have seen SYD-HKT one way 14 March 2008 for $139 ($298.80 including taxes) but that means spending 9:50 hours on a JQ flight with not much to do and then I will have to find a way to get to UTP or BKK same night otherwise spend more money on accommodation.

Now if there was a guarantee that I could get a Starclass upgrade for an extra $300 I would definately book it for the 120 SCs.

John, I've got SYD-HKT-BKK booked in about 6 weeks. 4 hour connection from JQ to FD which gets you to BKK without having to stay the night. Then again I got the JQ fare cheaper than $299 so I guess it depends what you call good value.

There's a "resort" near HKT called the "Beautiful Sands Resort" which is convienient for an overnighter... it was an experience though!

I don't think I want to spend a night in Phuket. Better off in the HI or Hilton in BKK.

Now why didn't I think of Air Asia? A one way flight HKT-BKK on 14 March 2008 is ~A$35 plus $299 for SYD-HKT on JQ. I would consider that a cheap airfare to BKK. It would also allow F lounge access in SYD but BYO (buy your own) drinks in HKT.
