Technically, umm well actually, my December diary starts in November. It was at the end of November I began my seventh and last trip to Blighty.
ďMr Hancock we have a complimentary upgrade to First Class for your MEL-SIN flight for you.Ē These were words that were most welcome. I had booked a JASA way back in January so the upgrade was a very pleasant surprise. The QF MEL F check in ďsuiteĒ is a wonderful start to a trip. I had never heard of a status run, let alone ever attempted one, prior to joining AFF. Even after reading about the exploits of the status run masters I didnít believe I would ever be planning and executing one myself. Itís the end of October and I have finally got past the 1200SC mark with QF after four months. I thought I was never going to get there. MrsH reached her 1200SC milestone 45 days into her year. Oh and how I have enjoyed hearing about that.
My sixth trip to Blighty, this year, began with a call from the EY chauffeur service to let me know what time I would be picked up later in the week. I rather liked this. Normally Iím fannying about booking a taxi or driving myself.

I must say I am looking forward to daylight savings and QF129 going back to a 10:25 departure. Much more civilised, no gulping down eggs benedict in a rush....but Iím getting ahead of myself.
The Melbourne Airport Holiday Inn duly popped
Happy New Year! Although it is not really happy nor is it a new year, for two reasons; Itís not a new year in the actual sense, it is just the start of a new QFF year for me, and in no way are the next 12 months going to be particularly happy. I fear the worst for the economy and that means traveling at the wrong end of the aircraft for me.
It is going to be a year where I will struggle to maintain P1 and DJ Platinum. If I do retain WP1 status I will be funding a good portion of
