I’ve now been a member here for 1 year and have to say I’m really enjoying the community and am glad it’s been so accepting of me.

I joined because I was flying CX less and couldn’t retain my CX Silver membership (which gave me lounge access when flying CX), but read I could buy discounted QP membership through the site and that in turn sparked my interest in flying around Australia, meeting new people and seeing new things.

I don’t think I expected to integrate myself so into this community when I joined, but I’m glad I did, as it’s been a great year, even though I haven’t actually reattained a Silver membership status just yet.

In my first year of membership I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge that I wasn’t able to use myself as I don’t have enough money, but am now able to successfully offer advice as if I have flown all over.

I guess my goal looking forward is to find a job I like (and get hired) so I can start making money and be a SFSC. It’s just a shame I can’t put the knowledge to better use right now.

Oh and sorry if when I’ve met anyone here at a social event I’ve come across as an alcoholic. I’m really not, but a drop or two pulls me out of my shell, and sometimes it’s easy to get carried away in a lounge when it’s free.

AFF is a very accepting place; maybe they just let everyone in.

wow one year and 3,000 posts; well 2,000 important ones.

Sam has been a consistent attendee at the AFF drink nights.

Also getting yourself a job doesn't usually mean you have to post less as you earn some of your own money you can then go flying and then you can answer more of the questions that pop up.
