The week began with the delivery of the first 787 to ANA. Not sure how late, but the Airbus fans who got a ribbing for the A380 delays might have had the last laugh. That may not last long, A350 delays to come no doubt. Qantas-American airlines agreement finally got ACCC approval, while Air New Zealand increased its stake in Virgin to 20% while Virgin awaits approval of agreement with Singapore Airlines. Emirates continued on its growth plans announcing Dallas and Seattle and new routes, while also entering an agreement with Canada's WestJet. The big Skyteam news of the week was the addition of China Airlines. Rumor is Skyteam are looking for a suitable Indian member. With China Southern, China Eastern and now China Airlines the Taipei, Guangzhou, Shanghai triangle looks to be covered! Vietnam Airlines and Etihad have entered a code share agreement with transfers in BKK. The most interesting code share news in recent times is Jet Airways agreement with Thalys to connect passengers to Paris via Brussels on high speed train......I would have thought most people would just catch a plane? Until next time QF10
