As the title suggests, I have had 7 joy filled weeks and they ended today. The last seven weeks have seen me flying with Virgin Blue/Australia on Monday mornings. It really has been a enjoyable, the staff have been consistently friendly and helpful. I have always got great seats when it comes to checking in. Unfortunately Virgin Australia doesn't have seat preferences and as I don't do windows I've had to move from 3A to 7 or 8 aisle a couple of times. Towards the end, however, check in had me ...
I had an interest flight last night, SYD-ADL. I made the big push and got the 17:25 flight, which is way early for me to leave work, an early start to my europe trip next week. I boarded up front, there was no priority boarding (just mention that to continue a theme), more like the ground team member said to the flight team members "just start boarding them and while I get clearance". Anyway, I had 4F on a 73H. I get to row 4 and start to organise my crap. When this dude ...
I had a nice early Christmas present last night with Qantas giving me my first real op-up. I say real op-up because I did get a half op-up back in 1994 or so, when the check in agent said they put me into a business seat for my flight TSV-BNE. They provided me with a Y meal while the person next to me had something better. Another strange coincidence, for closure, was that on both occasions it was a 734, I think. No doubt this was a case of karma is action, given all the whinging ...

I just wanted to write a quick report on my excellent Virgin BLue experience this morning flying ADL-SYD. The one slight hitch was a 25 minute delay on departure. This delay is certainly a fairly regular feature of DJ401 happening about 30% of the time I've taken this flight, admittedly I've only catch it a hand full of times. Compared to the 6 am QF flight, which I recall being delayed only once or twice out of about 25 or 30 flights. However, with the strong wind forecast for SYD, I was expecting ...
Platinum I debated a bit about where and how to post this news. I thought of a trip report on 8 months of commuting, but I don't really have much to report trip-wise. So I settled on a Blog entry as I have mainly discussed my commuting flights in the blog. After 8 months of commuting ADL to SYD I have finally, with last nights flight, made Platinum with Qantas. One flight before the end of my member year on 30 September. Before I started my new job in Sydney I had taken ...
