Saturday night I decided to stay in Brisbane a few extra days and changed my flight from Sunday to Tuesday. Fast forward to Tuesday and I'm relaxing at the QP and giggling inside everytime I heard that the QF517 delay was being extended. I was fine, I was on the only slightly delayed QF521.
I wandered down to gate 17 a little early and heard an announcement for all Manila bound passengers from 517 to go to the customer service desk next to gate I can't remember (top of the escalator). Then shortly after a list of at least 15 names from 521 were told to go to the customer service desk that was near gate 17.
My guess is they were bumping passengers from 521 to make room for the Manila bound passengers from 517. I was on a red e deal with no checked luggage so I would have been ideal to bump however I'm guessing my Silver QP saved me![]()
