It's not that I had no choice other than to sit down in the main part of T1 at Melbourne. I have every right to be sitting up in the QP. But the fact is I am down in the main terminal to excape the hussle and bussel of the QP.

Let's look at it for a second.

In the QP I can get a free drink (but really only one as I'm driving when I get back home), and then try and find a free seat. the food is minimal (non-existant is more like, once the seagulls have swammed) and it was anything other than quiet.

Down stairs I was able to get some dinner from the food court, easily find a seat overlooking the gates \ planes and eat dinner (real food, not out of the oven finger food), I've now walked upto the end near gate 11 where I have a great view out across towards the runways.

I remember when I first joined. The QP was the special quiet place that you went to escape the airport, now the airport seems to be the place you go to escape the noise of the QP.

Just (non-existant) food for thought...
