  1. 5 Years On...

    by , 1st April 2014 at 05:30 PM (Sam Heathfield’s AFF Blog)
As my 5th year draws to a close on AFF, my posting has remained around ~2500 posts a year. This past year I posted 2562 times.

To get my average of on-topic posts to off-topic posts I retrieved the official posting figures March-February for each year from Top Posters of the Month/Year, and divided that by the lower total number of posts in my profile, which shows me I'm now at 85% on-topic, a +2% change.

Last year I had successfully re-qualified after my first ...

Time for a late annual entry, having completed 4 years on AFF I somehow forgot to do my yearly wrap. I must be tired!

I've managed to retain my WP level with 1200 SC exactly, and already have enough flights booked this year to surpass that this year, though my current dilemma is whether or not it's worth aiming for the extra benefits at 2400 SC.

In my third year my posting slowed down a little, with only 2458 posts made, compared to 4712 in the second year and ...

  3. Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

Have had contact from VFF rep in Sept 2013 to use this list and get back to us with some confirmation about some of the fixes already enacted and a potential list of other fixes and timelines that may still being worked on.

Additional items welcome - items in red recognized, items in green fixed, items in orange are unsure as being fixed - would welcome input if they are(or not).

  4. Diary of a DYKWIA December 2012

Technically, umm well actually, my December diary starts in November. It was at the end of November I began my seventh and last trip to Blighty.

“Mr Hancock we have a complimentary upgrade to First Class for your MEL-SIN flight for you.” These were words that were most welcome. I had booked a JASA way back in January so the upgrade was a very pleasant surprise. The QF MEL F check in “suite” is a wonderful start to a trip. Away from the hustle and bustle it is peaceful and feels ...

  5. Diary of a DYKWIA October 2012

It’s the end of October and I have finally got past the 1200SC mark with QF after four months. I thought I was never going to get there. MrsH reached her 1200SC milestone 45 days into her year. Oh and how I have enjoyed hearing about that.

My sixth trip to Blighty, this year, began with a call from the EY chauffeur service to let me know what time I would be picked up later in the week. I rather liked this. Normally I’m fannying about booking a taxi or driving myself. ...
