  1. 4 Years On...

    by , 1st April 2013 at 11:21 PM (Sam Heathfield’s AFF Blog)
Time for a late annual entry, having completed 4 years on AFF I somehow forgot to do my yearly wrap. I must be tired!

I've managed to retain my WP level with 1200 SC exactly, and already have enough flights booked this year to surpass that this year, though my current dilemma is whether or not it's worth aiming for the extra benefits at 2400 SC.

In my third year my posting slowed down a little, with only 2458 posts made, compared to 4712 in the second year and ...

  2. Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

    by , 23rd March 2013 at 04:52 PM
Whoever does communicate with Virgin about the Sabre transition – please take the following list of problems with them – gathered from trawling the numerous AFF complaint threads. I have kept this up to date as of the 23rd May as it appears that some problems are being rectified so it is a "moveable feast". Additional items welcome - items in red recognized, items in green fixed, items in orange are unsure as being fixed - would welcome input if they are(or not).

  3. Diary of a DYKWIA December 2012

    by , 2nd January 2013 at 10:11 AM
Technically, umm well actually, my December diary starts in November. It was at the end of November I began my seventh and last trip to Blighty.

“Mr Hancock we have a complimentary upgrade to First Class for your MEL-SIN flight for you.” These were words that were most welcome. I had booked a JASA way back in January so the upgrade was a very pleasant surprise. The QF MEL F check in “suite” is a wonderful start to a trip. Away from the hustle and bustle it is peaceful and feels ...

  4. Diary of a DYKWIA October 2012

    by , 23rd November 2012 at 05:33 PM
It’s the end of October and I have finally got past the 1200SC mark with QF after four months. I thought I was never going to get there. MrsH reached her 1200SC milestone 45 days into her year. Oh and how I have enjoyed hearing about that.

My sixth trip to Blighty, this year, began with a call from the EY chauffeur service to let me know what time I would be picked up later in the week. I rather liked this. Normally I’m fannying about booking a taxi or driving myself. ...

  5. Diary of a DYKWIA September 2012

    by , 16th October 2012 at 06:15 AM
Ye Gods October is upon us and almost past.. What did I do in September? Time to think about this.

Shanghai.....I had a week’s business in Shanghai, a JASA with QF. It’s all coming back. QF400, a 734 and another lack of priority boarding. I must say I am looking forward to daylight savings and QF129 going back to a 10:25 departure. Much more civilised, no gulping down eggs benedict in a rush....but I’m getting ahead of myself.

The Melbourne Airport Holiday Inn duly popped ...
