Amex tighten its points allocations

Hi All

Just looked at my amex my points this morning to arrange a transfer for our christmas holidays.

Amex are now only awarding points per $

For example

Previously they would award 30 points for a transaction worth $29.50 or up to $29.99

Now they are only awarding 29 points

I know this is small and petty but they do add up

I gather AMEX have been smashed so many times with these promotions that have gone wrong they are cracking down on giving out anymore points than they need to

Like to know if anyone else have experienced this

Been happening since August unfortunately. oz_mark has posted a link to the discussion of the change (I also located it - but he beat me to posting it!)

I noticed this but have also noticed some random cases where the points are rounded up.
23/7 $30.64 90 points
30/7 $49.61 150 points
1/8 $25.43 75 points
2/8 $23.38 72 points

Few other examples around those dates, but consistently rounded down after 6/8.
